the top of one listing's band, not expected pay
A listing qualifies when it advertises an hourly band with a positive floor whose ceiling is $100/hour or more. Per-task, per-project, monthly and yearly listings, and listings with no stated figure, are not counted, whatever they pay. Figures are computed from the live board when this page is rendered. The 40 highest advertised ceilings of 412 qualifying listings. Each card shows the band as the platform published it and links to the listing's own page.
Reading the advertised rates
- A ceiling is not a rate
- An advertised ceiling is the top of a band one listing publishes. What a given person is offered depends on experience, geography, the project and the platform, and an advertised maximum is not a guaranteed rate.
- What the figures count
- Only listings that state an hourly band with a positive floor enter the median and the ceiling here, and each enters as the midpoint of its band. A median appears once at least 3 listings qualify. Per-task and per-project pay is real pay, but it is not converted into an hourly figure.
- Advertised, not earned
- Screening, task availability and hours decide what anyone earns. Sidequest shows what each listing publishes, checks nothing beyond that, and does not list every remote job.
- Where the medians are
- The rates page gives the median by field and the market report the full distribution by field and platform, from the same live listings.
