The work

You will analyze product safety laws, regulations and standards across jurisdictions, then draft, edit or evaluate compliance documentation and legal text. Assignments may include reviewing case studies, identifying gaps in compliance materials, explaining legal implications and recommending mitigation measures.

How your expertise is used

The project turns real-world legal analysis into structured material for AI training and evaluation. You may need to translate dense regulatory language into practical guidance, distinguish defensible conclusions from unsupported ones and provide detailed written feedback on model-generated analysis. Relevant frameworks may include CPSC requirements, EU directives, FDA regulation and applicable state rules.

What the screening is likely to test

Expect questions about specific product safety matters you have handled, the jurisdictions and product categories involved, and the documents you personally drafted or reviewed. The screen may also test how you resolve conflicting authorities, identify missing facts and evaluate whether a proposed compliance strategy adequately addresses legal and enforcement risk. A JD or equivalent legal degree focused on product safety, consumer protection or regulatory compliance is preferred, as is significant experience advising on federal, state and international requirements.

Logistics

The engagement is remote and structured as contractor work. The listing does not specify weekly hours, project duration or whether all work is asynchronous, so candidates should be prepared to state their availability and clarify scheduling expectations during screening.
