What the work involves

You will spend most of your time on two loops. In the first, you write banker-grade reference material from scratch: a company profile page, a trading comps page with a defensible peer set, a process update deck, a management presentation section, or a CIM business-description draft. In the second, you grade what the model produces against that standard — marking where the page structure breaks down, where a footnote is missing or wrong, where a calendarized multiple has been quietly mishandled, where the takeaway header describes the chart instead of arguing a point. Rationales matter as much as scores; the lab is training on your reasoning, not just your verdict.

Expect tasks drawn from the real workflow set: pitch book production, company profiles, trading and transaction comps, process updates, management presentations, and CIM drafting. Slide craft counts. Alignment, consistent fonts and rules, source lines, units and periods labelled, and the conventions your MD would have redlined at 2am are all inside the evaluation surface.

What the platform screens for

Ethos runs an AI voice screen before any task access. It probes for specifics that only someone who has actually built these decks can supply — how you'd screen comparables and justify exclusions, what goes on a transaction comps page versus a trading comps page, how a pitch book is sequenced for a sell-side versus a buy-side mandate, what you'd cut first when a deck runs long. Vague seniority claims tend to collapse under one follow-up. Written work samples or a short live task may follow.

Logistics

  • Fully remote, fully asynchronous; no fixed hours or standing calls
  • 5–20 hours per week, more available if you want it
  • $100/hour is the observed rate for this listing, not a guarantee — bands vary by task type and tenure on the platform
  • Work is typically covered by NDA; you should not use any confidential deal material from a current or former employer
