What the work involves

You'll spend most of your time on two kinds of tasks: authoring reference presentations to a prompt (an annual strategy review, a market landscape read, a growth initiative business case, a competitive intelligence briefing, CEO/board offsite material, an OKR or portfolio review), and grading model attempts at the same. Grading is where the judgment shows — you're marking whether the storyline holds, whether the action title on each page actually states a claim the body supports, whether the framing is MECE or merely decorative, and whether the numbers on a page could survive a CFO asking where they came from. Written rationale matters as much as the score; the lab trains on your reasoning, not just your rating.

Expect to write critiques that name the specific failure — "page 7 asserts share gain but the exhibit shows volume, not share" — rather than global impressions. Many tasks ask you to produce a corrected version alongside the critique, so PowerPoint craft is genuinely exercised, not just described.

What the platform screens for

  • Real strategy-team tenure, four years or more, inside a company rather than purely advisory. Ex-MBB or Big 4 background is a plus, not a substitute.
  • Evidence you've produced materials that reached a CEO or board — the screen will ask what the deck was for, who was in the room, and what changed as a result.
  • Slide craftsmanship under questioning: horizontal logic, exhibit selection, ghost-deck discipline, how you compress a forty-page working deck into a twelve-page read.
  • Calibration — can you distinguish a deck that is wrong from one that is merely not how you'd have done it. Over-penalising stylistic difference is a common disqualifier.

An AI voice screen is part of the process. It follows up, so half-remembered specifics tend to unravel.

Logistics

Fully remote and asynchronous. Five to twenty hours a week, more if you want it and volume allows; no fixed shifts, though some task batches carry turnaround windows. $80/hour is the observed rate for this listing rather than a guaranteed figure — bands move with task type and reviewer tier. Work is typically covered by NDA and you should assume you cannot reuse employer-confidential material.
