What the work involves
You'll work through the deck tasks a client actually brings to a consultant: a full build from a blank page, a storyline workshop where the argument isn't settled yet, a restructure of someone else's messy 60-slider, an executive summary rewrite, board and investor material. Sometimes you produce the reference artifact yourself — the version a paying client would accept. Sometimes you're handed a model's attempt and asked to judge it: is the storyline sound, do the page titles carry the argument, is the exhibit doing work or decorating, would a CFO push back on slide four?
The part that surprises people is how much writing there is. Critique has to be specific and reusable — "the pyramid collapses because slides 3–7 are parallel evidence for a conclusion never stated" trains a model; "weak flow" does not. Expect to annotate, rewrite titles, propose alternative structures, and explain why a plausible-looking deck would fail in the room.
What the platform screens for
- Evidence you've owned deliverables end-to-end as an independent, not just contributed slides inside a large team
- Command of storyline craft under follow-up — MECE, pyramid principle, action titles, the ghost-deck habit — described the way a practitioner uses it, not the way a textbook states it
- Real PowerPoint fluency: masters, alignment discipline, building exhibits that survive an edit cycle
- Judgment about audience: what changes between a board pre-read, an investor deck, and an internal steering committee
- Whether you can write an evaluation another reviewer could act on
The screen includes an AI voice interview. It probes: it will take a claim you make and ask for the specific engagement behind it.
Logistics
Fully remote and asynchronous, 5–20 hours per week with room for more if you want it. You set your own hours; work is claimed from a queue rather than assigned on a calendar. Pay is observed at $80/hour and not guaranteed — rates vary by task type and review tier. Portfolio material is typically requested, and candidates should be prepared to discuss client work at a level that respects confidentiality.
