What the work involves
This is a single, self-contained recording task rather than an ongoing engagement. You receive a short English script and a step-by-step guide covering how to set up, what to say, how to handle mistakes, and what file to upload. You read the script aloud in your own voice, check the recording for obvious problems — clipping, background noise, a truck going past mid-sentence — and submit through the designated platform. Most contributors finish in fifteen minutes or less, including setup.
The project needs authentic Polish-influenced English: speakers whose first language is Polish, or who grew up speaking it, reading English naturally. Performed or exaggerated accents are the one thing that gets a submission rejected outright. There is no acting brief here — the goal is unremarkable, ordinary speech, not a character.
What the platform screens for
- Genuine language background. Screening confirms Polish as a first or heritage language and English as a working second language. Expect a short spoken sample.
- Audible baseline quality. A phone microphone in a quiet room is enough. Screening is checking that you have somewhere quiet, not that you own an interface.
- Instruction-following. The guide is short but specific about file format, naming, and retakes. Contributors who skim it produce the bulk of rejected submissions.
Logistics
Fully remote and asynchronous, done whenever suits you inside the turnaround window — which is short, usually a few days. Pay is stated on the listing as a flat $50 per accepted submission; the hourly band shown reflects observed effective rate for a task of this length, not a guaranteed schedule of work. Repeat batches sometimes follow for contributors whose first take is clean, but nothing is promised beyond the single recording.
