What the work involves

You author imaging scenarios the way a clinical instructor would write a competency check: a patient, a requested exam, a set of constraints, and a decision that has a defensible right answer. That might be an AP mobile chest on a ventilated ICU patient, a cross-table lateral hip on a suspected fracture, a pediatric extremity where technique and shielding both matter, or a CT protocol call where contrast timing changes the diagnostic value of the study. Each scenario ships with a reference answer that spells out the reasoning — why this SID, why this kVp/mAs pairing, why this positioning compromise is acceptable and that one is not.

The second half of the job is grading. You read model output and judge whether it is technically accurate and radiation-safe, and you write the rationale for your score. The category that matters most is advice that sounds fluent and correct to a layperson but would produce a repeat exposure, an undiagnostic image, or an unsafe study — a missed pregnancy screen, a grid used at the wrong distance, an MRI safety screening question skipped, contrast given without a documented renal check. Flagging those clearly, with the clinical consequence named, is the deliverable.

What the platform screens for

AfterQuery verifies ARRT certification and active state licensure where the state requires it, plus at least two years of clinical imaging. Beyond credentials, the screen probes whether you can defend technique choices under follow-up rather than recite a chart: expect to be asked why you would change a factor, what happens to the image if you change the wrong one, and how you would handle a scenario where the ordered exam and the patient's condition conflict. Written clarity is assessed directly — protocols and grading rationales are the product, and vague prose fails even when the underlying judgment is sound.

Logistics
