The work
You will review French output from a large language model across tasks such as translation, summarization, dialogue, and grammar correction. Day-to-day work may include scoring quality and accuracy, rewriting unnatural passages, annotating grammatical or semantic features, identifying recurring model failures, and documenting findings for AI researchers.
What Mercor is likely to screen for
Native or near-native French is required, along with professional experience in French translation, editing, linguistic annotation, or NLP data work. The screen is likely to test whether you can explain fine distinctions in grammar, syntax, register, regional usage, and meaning, then apply consistent evaluation criteria rather than relying on instinct alone. Interest in AI and LLM-based language technology is preferred, not required.
Working arrangements
The project is remote and involves collaboration with a distributed team. The listing does not disclose a fixed schedule, expected weekly hours, project duration, or whether all work is asynchronous, so candidates should be ready to state their actual availability and clarify scheduling requirements during the process.
