The work

You will assess Chinese text generated by large language models for accuracy, fluency, grammatical correctness, stylistic fit and cultural appropriateness. Typical tasks include reviewing translation, summarization, dialogue and grammar correction outputs, then editing or rewriting weak responses and annotating grammatical, syntactic or semantic features.

What the screening emphasizes

Mercor is looking for native or near-native fluency in Chinese and professional experience in Chinese translation, editing, linguistic annotation or NLP data work. Screening is likely to test whether you can identify subtle errors, explain why wording is unnatural, account for regional and contextual variation, and turn linguistic observations into feedback that AI researchers can use. Interest in AI and LLM-driven language technologies is preferred but not required.

Working format

The role is remote and involves collaboration with a distributed team. The listing does not specify whether work is fully asynchronous, a minimum weekly commitment or typical working hours, so candidates should be ready to state their availability and any time-zone constraints during screening.
