What the work involves

You are the person who decides whether an AI-generated meal planner is actually usable by a dietitian or a kitchen manager. Day to day that means authoring discovery parameters and guardrails — calorie and macro goals, household size, allergen exclusions, weekly grocery budget — then checking that the model's output honors them end to end. A large share of the job is formula-level verification: does the macro breakdown reconcile to the calorie target at 4/4/9 kcal per gram, does per-serving scale correctly to per-batch, do unit-level ingredient costs roll up to a grocery total that holds a food-cost percentage target, do validation dropdowns actually block an out-of-range entry.

You will also co-design the interview workflows the AI uses to collect user context, and validate the context files feeding it — recipe cards, pantry inventories, grocery receipts. The final step is sign-off: reviewing flagship assets like meal planners and kitchen dashboards and stating, on the record, whether they meet professional dietetic and culinary standards.

What the screen looks for

  • Deterministic thinking. Turing wants someone who can convert "low sodium, 1,800 kcal, family of four, $150/week" into spreadsheet logic with explicit rules, not prose advice.
  • Recipe math under pressure. Expect probes on scaling non-linear ingredients, yield and shrinkage, and where per-serving assumptions break.
  • Allergen rigor. Exclusion logic is treated as safety-critical, including cross-contact and hidden-derivative cases.
  • Concise professional writing. Guardrail documents have to be unambiguous to an engineer who knows nothing about nutrition.

AI evaluation or annotation experience is listed as preferred, not required — domain depth carries more weight.

Logistics

Fully remote contractor engagement, 40 hours per week for up to 10 weeks, with eight hours overlapping Pacific time and weekend on-call availability; part-time is accepted in some cases. You need your own desktop or laptop and reliable high-speed internet. A bachelor's degree in any field or equivalent practical experience satisfies the education line. The process starts with a Job Interest Form for shortlisted candidates, followed by a delivery interview. Pay was not disclosed in this posting.
