What the work actually involves
You will spend most of your time inside slide-shaped tasks. Some days that means authoring a reference deck from a brief — a positioning and brand architecture story, a campaign creative rationale, a quarterly brand health readout — at the standard you'd bring to a client or an exec review. Other days you're grading what the model produced: does the strategy ladder actually hold together, is the 'insight' a real tension or a restated demographic fact, does the tracker slide read the data correctly or has it confused unaided awareness with consideration? You write the rationale for every judgment, because the written critique is the training signal, not the score.
Expect a mix of workflows drawn from real brand practice: brand strategy decks, positioning and architecture presentations, campaign creative rationale slides, brand tracking readouts, and annual brand plan presentations. Deck craft counts as much as strategic content — hierarchy, the one-idea-per-slide discipline, headline writing that asserts rather than labels, chart choices that don't mislead.
What the platform screens for
- Real tenure. Four or more years in brand strategy or brand management at a recognised brand, agency, or CPG company. Screeners probe for specific categories, clients, and what you personally owned versus what the team shipped.
- Work that went somewhere. A portfolio of strategy presentations that actually shaped a campaign or launch — not spec decks or coursework.
- PowerPoint at expert level. Masters, layouts, chart hygiene, building a deck that survives someone else editing it.
- Written precision. Ethos weighs your written critiques heavily; vague praise or vague criticism both fail.
Logistics
Fully remote and asynchronous, with a flexible commitment between 5 and 20 hours per week and room for more if you want it. Tasks are queued; you choose when to work them. The interview process includes an AI voice screen — a live, spoken conversation with follow-ups that press on whatever you claim.
