What the work involves

You record Italian voice-over against supplied scripts and deliver clean audio files to spec. Sessions vary by project: character dialogue with distinct personalities, emotionally varied read-throughs of the same line, narration, and sometimes dubbing-style work where timing has to land inside a fixed window. Expect direction notes on tone, pacing, and register, and expect to re-record takes when a note comes back — revision cycles are a normal part of a data-collection pipeline, not a sign something went wrong.

Because the audio becomes training or evaluation data, technical consistency matters as much as performance. That usually means a stable recording environment, uniform mic distance and levels across a batch, no room reflections or background hum, and files delivered in the requested format, sample rate, and naming convention. A beautiful take with a fridge compressor in the background is unusable.

What the platform screens for

  • Native or near-native Italian, with control over register — standard broadcast Italian plus the ability to read naturally rather than stiffly.
  • Prior paid voice acting, describable in specifics: what you recorded, for whom, in what format.
  • A real recording setup — condenser or dynamic mic, interface, treated space, DAW competence. Phone recordings and laptop mics do not pass.
  • Direction-taking, which the screen probes by asking how you handled contradictory or vague notes.
  • Preferred, not required: dubbing/ADR or localization experience, a varied demo reel, formal acting training, and audio editing skill.

Shortlisting is based on stated experience; shortlisted candidates then complete a delivery review — a recorded sample judged on both performance and audio quality — before onboarding.

Logistics

Fully remote and freelance under a flexible agreement, not employment. Volume is project-driven and can be uneven: quiet weeks followed by batches with short turnarounds, so realistic availability and a same-day or next-day delivery habit matter. Pay is undisclosed for this listing; voice work on AI data platforms is commonly quoted per audio hour or per delivered batch rather than hourly for time in the booth. Contract extension depends on delivery quality and ongoing project need.
