What the work involves

You receive scripts and direction, then record them in your own treated home studio (or a booked studio) and deliver finished audio. "Finished hour" is the unit that matters here: one hour of usable, edited, mastered, cleaned-up audio — not one hour sitting at the mic. Depending on script density, pickup requirements and your editing speed, a finished hour typically represents several hours of raw session and post work, so read the rate against your own throughput before accepting.

The material spans commercial reads, corporate narration, e-learning, audiobook-style long form and digital media, so tonal range matters more than a single signature voice. Expect revision rounds: a director flags pacing, emphasis, a mispronounced proper noun or an inconsistent energy level, and you re-record the affected lines and match them seamlessly to the original take. Data of this kind is generally used to train or evaluate speech systems, which means consistency of mic distance, room tone and level across the whole session is scrutinised more closely than in most commercial VO work.

What the screen looks for

  • Three or more years of professional Spanish voice work, with a portfolio or reel that demonstrably came out of a controlled recording environment
  • Command of pronunciation and diction, and clarity about which Spanish variety or varieties you can deliver credibly
  • Hands-on signal chain knowledge: microphone, interface, room treatment, and basic post — noise reduction, levelling, correct sample rate, bit depth and file format
  • Evidence you can take direction without defensiveness and turn revisions around quickly

Shortlisted candidates submit a short 30-second demo recording, so your file hygiene is part of the assessment, not an afterthought.

Logistics

Fully remote and asynchronous, structured as a flexible contractor agreement rather than employment. There is a one-time USD 20 onboarding and set-up fee expected to take up to an hour, and a fixed USD 200 per finished hour as stated in the listing — pay terms are as observed in the posting and not guaranteed. You control your own recording hours; what is not flexible is delivery deadlines and quick-turnaround pickups.
