The work

You will design realistic engineering projects that require architectural decisions across disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, hardware, software, and manufacturing. The work includes defining system boundaries, subsystem responsibilities, interfaces, constraints, dependencies, technical objectives, and evaluation criteria.

Day to day

You will break complex architecture problems into connected tasks with clear inputs, deliverables, ownership, and sequencing. You may coordinate contributions from domain experts, construct trade-study scenarios, and create review criteria that distinguish technically sound reasoning from answers that overlook integration risks or lifecycle constraints.

What the platform screens for

The screening is likely to focus on verifiable architecture ownership, leadership of multidisciplinary teams, interface management, technical trade studies, and architecture reviews. Expect follow-up questions about specific systems, decisions, constraints, and outcomes rather than broad descriptions of seniority. English proficiency at B2 level or higher is required. Experience with model-based systems engineering, SysML, architecture modeling tools, full-lifecycle delivery, or complex engineering sectors is preferred.

Logistics

This is a remote contractor engagement. US-based candidates are preferred, but candidates with strong relevant experience worldwide are considered. The listing does not specify whether the workflow is fully asynchronous, a fixed schedule, or a typical weekly hour range, so candidates should be ready to state their availability and time-zone overlap precisely. The observed platform band is not a guarantee of compensation or assignment volume.
