The work
You will review industrial CT volumes, X-ray images, ultrasonic scans, shearography data and fiber optic inspection records. Day-to-day tasks include identifying relevant indications, writing defensible assessments and dispositions, explaining the basis for decisions and documenting recommendations for annotation, labeling and model development.
Technical judgment
The work requires you to assess imaging quality, detection limits and the risk of false positives or false negatives in difficult inspection scenarios. Evaluations should reflect applicable ASNT, NAS 410 or EN 4179 requirements and real-world inspection practice. Specialist experience such as EPRI-qualified nuclear UT analysis, composite or battery inspection, or tire NDT is particularly relevant.
Screening focus
The platform is likely to verify your certification, depth of advanced NDT experience and direct exposure to production inspection data. Expect follow-up questions about specific modalities, materials, discontinuities, acceptance criteria and cases where incomplete or low-quality data affected your disposition. No prior AI experience is required, but your reasoning must be explicit enough to support consistent AI training labels.
Logistics
This is a global-remote contractor engagement with a typical commitment of about 10 hours per week. Work is flexible and largely asynchronous, with hours and days chosen by the contractor, including weekends if desired. Clear written and verbal responses are needed to resolve technical queries remotely.
Pay band: $20–60/hr
