The work
This remote contractor role supports an investment bank's algorithmic trading platform project. Day to day, you will review AI-generated rates research and strategy outputs, test whether the conclusions follow from the methodology, and identify issues such as lookahead bias, overfitting, data snooping, weak factor design, or unrealistic cost and liquidity assumptions. Reviews also cover rates-specific mechanics, including yield curves, carry and roll-down, contract roll conventions, relative value trades, SOFR/Eurodollar instruments, and Treasury futures.
What the platform screens for
The screen is likely to focus on verifiable experience building or reviewing systematic rates strategies and your ability to diagnose a flawed research process under follow-up. Strong candidates can explain how they validate data timing, backtest construction, signal robustness, implementation fidelity, transaction costs, and liquidity constraints. Advanced proficiency in Python (pandas, numpy, scipy) or R is preferred, as is prior experience reviewing quantitative models against finance best practices. No prior AI experience is required.
Practical details
The work is remote and coordinated asynchronously, with findings clarified through concise written feedback and occasional verbal discussion. The listing does not state typical weekly hours or a fixed schedule, so candidates should be ready to describe their realistic availability and any constraints. Pay band: $80–150/hr
