The work
You will review inpatient records, abstract information from EMRs and check whether documentation supports assigned ICD-10-CM codes. Tasks may include assessing DRG assignment, MCC/CC capture and present-on-admission status, then correcting unsupported or incomplete coding decisions.
AI evaluation
You will compare AI-generated notes and summaries with real-world documentation and coding standards. You may also write prompts that test healthcare administrative scenarios involving billing and coding, insurance and prior authorization, scheduling or regulatory compliance, then provide a grounded correction when the model fails.
Screening
The platform is likely to verify an active certification such as CIC, CCS or CPC, along with practical inpatient coding experience. Expect follow-up questions about navigating complex records, connecting documentation to code and DRG outcomes, identifying MCC/CC and POA issues, and explaining how you would evaluate an AI response rather than simply recode a chart.
Logistics
This is a remote contractor role for US-based coders who can contribute at least 10 hours per week. Compensation is task-based, with an approximate average handling time of one hour per task, and payment depends on completed work meeting project specifications.
Pay band: $50–70/hr
