The work

Contractors turn real finance workflows into difficult but gradable benchmark tasks. Day-to-day work may include designing FP&A analyses, reporting exercises, audit procedures or reconciliations, then creating the spreadsheets, GL extracts, financial statements and policy documents needed to complete them. Each task should require careful interpretation and professional judgment rather than simple lookup.

What the screening assesses

micro1 screens for direct ownership of finance or accounting work, strong Excel capability and the ability to reason across several documents. Candidates should be prepared to explain how they create or apply structured review standards, such as audit programs, close checklists, review checklists, grading rubrics or training assessments. Strong English required (B2 advanced or C1 minimum). CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent credentials are a plus, while prior AI or LLM evaluation experience is also a plus but is not required.

Evaluation judgment

A central requirement is defining criteria precise enough that two qualified reviewers would reach the same verdict. This includes identifying required calculations, acceptable conclusions, material errors and dependencies between steps. Contractors are also expected to flag ambiguous or ungradable task designs rather than submitting them unchanged.

Logistics

The role is a remote, global contractor engagement with no geographic restrictions. Work is project-based and paid per approved task, with each task estimated at approximately 10 hours. The listing does not specify fixed working hours or explicitly describe the schedule as asynchronous.
