This is a profile entry, not a job listing. Ethos is a profile-based expert network: rather than applying to one role, you create an expert profile and Ethos matches you to opportunities as they arise.
What happens after you create a profile
- Account and profile. You sign up with an email address or Google account and build a profile from your work history and qualifications. Ethos's terms say it may also draw on public information from third-party sources to understand what you know.
- Identity verification. Before taking part in any project, Ethos requires a government-issued photo ID, a live selfie and a biometric facial check, and screens against sanctions lists.
- AI-assisted screening and matching. Ethos uses AI tools alongside human review to evaluate, screen, rank and match experts to projects. For some opportunities it may invite you to a short AI voice screen. Its terms let you ask for human review of a decision that materially affects your participation.
- Opportunities. Ethos describes the work it matches experts to as expert calls, consulting engagements, market research studies, AI training projects, and fractional or full-time roles. It also publishes a small number of concrete opportunities on its own site with their own rates and requirements.
- Accepting work. Ethos presents projects to experts it considers a match. You may accept or decline any project, and its terms say declining carries no penalty.
What is not promised
Ethos's expert terms state that it makes no representation about the frequency, quantity, type or availability of opportunities, and that you may not receive any. Creating a profile does not guarantee matching, an interview or work.
Pay
Ethos publishes no general rate. Compensation is agreed per engagement at the time you accept it. The band shown on this entry, $70–225/hr, is the span of the rates quoted on the six opportunity pages Ethos itself published as of 6 September 2026 (five live and one closed; the top of the band is the closed one); it describes those pages, not what any matched engagement will pay.
Eligibility
Ethos's terms require you to be at least 18, legally entitled to work as an independent contractor where you are located, and not subject to sanctions. Ethos publishes no list of eligible countries and decides itself which jurisdictions and currencies it can pay to.
