What the work actually involves
You will sit on both sides of the data pipeline. Part of the time you are producing reference work: illustrations, vector assets, composites, retouched images, multi-track video edits, recorded and mixed audio, all built from written creative briefs and often in several controlled variations so that style, composition and quality stay consistent across a set. The rest of the time you are the evaluator — scoring model output or agent trajectories against a rubric, explaining in writing why one variation is stronger than another, and flagging where a brief was misread. Screen and stream capture, creator-video management, and careful documentation of prompts, workflows and asset metadata are explicit parts of the job, not afterthoughts.
The tool list is worth reading closely. Turing names GIMP, Krita, Inkscape, Shotcut, Kdenlive, REAPER and Ardour, and asks for real proficiency in at least two. That is an open-source stack, and it is specified because the work involves environments where these applications are what the model or agent has to operate. Fluency in Photoshop, Premiere or Pro Tools is useful context but does not substitute — screeners will ask about the named tools by name, including where their behaviour differs from the Adobe equivalents.
What the platform screens for
Expect a verification-heavy screen: years of professional practice, a portfolio that shows range rather than one signature style, and concrete tool depth under follow-up (brush engines and pressure input in Krita, node/path handling in Inkscape, proxy workflows in Shotcut or Kdenlive, routing and rendering in REAPER or Ardour). Beyond craft, the screen tests evaluation judgment: can you separate "I don't like this" from "this fails the brief," apply a rubric you disagree with, and write a critique another reviewer could act on without seeing the asset.
