What the work involves

This is a content role attached to LLM training pipelines rather than a publishing job. A typical task queue mixes several shapes of work: reading a long document and producing a faithful, lossless summary; splitting dense source material into smaller logical units that a model can be trained or tested against; checking assertions in a draft against primary sources online and flagging what cannot be substantiated; and writing prompts, riddles, or multi-step puzzles then working alongside the model to see where its reasoning breaks. You will also review other contributors' output and leave feedback that is specific enough to act on — pointing at the sentence, not the vibe.

What the platform screens for

Turing's funnel starts with an automated general aptitude challenge, then a human interview, and states the whole loop usually closes in under a week. The aptitude stage leans on reading comprehension, inference, and logical decomposition, so the screen is genuinely testing whether you can hold a long argument in your head and take it apart. The interview looks for evidence of professional writing or editing history — roughly two years or more as a copywriter, journalist, technical writer, editor, or translator is the stated preference, and a degree in engineering, literature, journalism, communications, arts or statistics is preferred but explicitly waivable if you have the work behind you.

Expect probing on research discipline: how you decide a claim is verified, how you handle a source you cannot corroborate, and how you write feedback that an author can use. Creative and lateral thinking comes up because puzzle authoring is part of the job, and a candidate who only describes tidy editorial work often struggles here.
