What the work actually involves

You receive an image of a business slide — often mediocre, sometimes actively confusing — and rebuild it in Microsoft PowerPoint to the standard a partner would take into a C-suite meeting. That means fixing the action title so it states a conclusion rather than labelling a topic, resolving the horizontal and vertical logic, choosing a better exhibit when the chart type is wrong for the claim, and tightening copy that buries the message. The rebuild is only half the deliverable. The other half is a reasoning log: a written account of each change you made, each element you deliberately left alone, and why. The log is what trains the model, so a beautiful slide with a thin rationale is a failed task.

What the screen is looking for

micro1's screening is AI-led and conversational, and it pushes on specifics. Expect to be asked which firm, which practice, which kinds of decks, and then to defend a concrete decision — why that title, why a waterfall instead of a stacked bar, why you left a client's ugly-but-approved template alone. The platform is trying to separate people who absorbed consulting slide craft as an explicit, teachable system from people who produced good slides by imitation and cannot articulate the rule. Fluency in naming the principle (MECE grouping, pyramid structure, So-What titles, exhibit-to-claim fit) and in saying when the principle should be overridden is the differentiator. No AI background is expected; rubric or evaluation experience is a mild plus.

Logistics

  • Fully remote, contractor engagement, invoiced hourly against tasks.
  • Asynchronous — tasks are claimed from a queue rather than scheduled into meetings, though some cohorts have a short onboarding call and calibration rounds.
