The work

Contractors create and solve research-level problems in biology and related fields, then review proposed solutions for scientific and computational correctness. Day-to-day tasks may involve analyzing biological data, building models or simulations, checking assumptions, reproducing results and identifying errors in Python code or technical reasoning.

Relevant expertise

The platform is interested in medicine and biomedical science, computational biology, neuroscience, molecular and cellular biology, biotechnology and bioinformatics, genetics and genomics, ecology and evolutionary biology, biostatistics, and biological data science. Candidates should be prepared to discuss specific research contributions and practical Python work, including the use of tools such as NumPy, pandas, SciPy, Matplotlib, scikit-learn, Jupyter or relevant domain-specific libraries.

Screening

The process includes screening questions, an AI interview of approximately 30 minutes and hiring manager review. Expect follow-up questions about a concrete research project, methodological choices, validation strategies, reproducibility and how you would distinguish a scientifically valid solution from code that merely runs.

Logistics

This is a global, fully remote contractor role with a flexible, task-based schedule of approximately 15 hours per week. Work is generally asynchronous, hours and days are self-selected, and weekend work is optional. Compensation is output-based and applies to tasks that meet project specifications; minimum submission requirements apply, and selected experts are expected to begin their first task within 24 to 48 hours after onboarding.
