What the work involves

You author accounting scenarios and the reference answers that go with them. A task might be a straightforward revenue recognition fact pattern, or it might be a lease modification, a step acquisition with contingent consideration, an impairment test with a shaky cash-generating unit definition, or a hedge that fails effectiveness testing. For each one you write the fact pattern, the correct treatment, and the standards reasoning — the specific paragraph of IFRS 15 or ASC 842 or the local equivalent, and why the alternative treatment a reasonable practitioner might reach for is wrong.

The second half of the job is grading. You read model output that is fluent, confident, and cites standards by number, and you decide whether the accounting is actually right. A large share of the value here is catching treatments that read plausible to a non-accountant — correct-sounding terminology attached to the wrong measurement basis, a standard cited accurately but applied to a transaction outside its scope, a disclosure that satisfies the letter of a requirement while omitting what a user would need.
