What the work involves
micro1 is assembling a dataset of vehicle-navigation video for a customer project, and the footage has to look a specific way: a stable, continuous trailing third-person shot of your own car as it drives. You claim assignments from a predefined list — local roads, turn and stop sequences, intersections, entering and exiting parking areas, transitions between road or neighbourhood types — and record them on trips you were already making. A commute, an errand run, or a weekend drive all count if the route satisfies the assignment's recording requirements.
The post-capture half matters as much as the drive. You export from 360° source into the required reframed trailing view, check the result for mount shake, obstructed angles, horizon drift, exposure problems and gaps in coverage, and submit only footage you would be willing to defend. Pay is tied to approved videos, so submissions that fail review are unpaid work. Selected contributors may also be offered optional non-driving recording assignments; participation is at your discretion.
What the platform screens for
Screening is AI-led and concentrates on whether you genuinely have the kit and the habits. Expect to name your exact camera body, your reframing and export software, and how your mount attaches to the vehicle — suction, magnetic, clamp, or a more permanent fixture — plus what you do about wind load and vibration at highway speed. You should be ready to describe how you judge a clip as usable before uploading it, and to be honest about the routes and environments you actually drive, since assignment matching depends on it.
Logistics
- Contractor engagement, remote, open to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
- Fully asynchronous and self-scheduled — you record when your own trips align with an open assignment.
- No volume guarantee; throughput depends on assignment availability and how often you drive.
- Limited equipment support may be available to qualified applicants who lack a compatible mount only; the camera and software are yours to provide.
