The work
You will record demonstrations of everyday household tasks in a fully equipped Japanese home. The project uses a UMI gripper and wearable equipment, including a VR headset and hand-tracking gloves, to capture visual demonstrations and hand movements. Day-to-day work includes setting up the equipment, following task-specific recording instructions, checking lighting and framing, performing precise household actions, uploading large video files, and revising your approach after reviewer feedback.
What the platform screens for
The screening is likely to focus on whether you can describe times you followed detailed specifications, diagnosed quality problems, and improved work after concrete feedback. Expect follow-up questions about your recording environment, internet connection, manual precision, comfort with prolonged VR headset use, and ability to maintain consistent output. Prior data collection or usability-study experience is preferred, but not required.
Logistics
This is a remote contractor role for candidates based in Japan. The recording equipment is shipped at no cost, with setup and usage instructions provided during onboarding. Work is task-based, and payment depends on submitted data being approved against project specifications. No fixed weekly hours or daily schedule are disclosed, but the role requires a consistent weekly workflow and expects selected candidates to begin tasks within approximately 24 hours after onboarding.
Pay band: $15/hr
