What the work involves

A large volume of property, lease, and asset data flows into the client's system of record and waits in a queue for human approval before it merges. Your job is to understand why that queue is expensive: which fields are thinly populated by entity type and asset class, where two sources disagree (a property recorded at 1M sq ft net rentable area carrying a 1.2M sq ft lease), and which records fall outside expected patterns entirely. From that analysis you produce clusters and flags that turn one-off oddities into repeatable patterns, then routing rules stating plainly what goes to a reviewer and what the system can fix on its own.

The deliverables are analyst deliverables, not engineering ones: business process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, data requirements, and dashboards or summaries that hold up in front of both Delivery leadership and the engineers building the agentic framework. You write your own SQL to explore and validate, and hand heavier build-out to existing engineers and visualization developers. Traceability matters — each rule should trace back to the data issue that justified it and forward to the workflow behaviour it produces.

What the screen looks for

The listing is explicit that this is not a Data Engineer or Data Architect seat. Screening centres on whether you can open an unfamiliar schema, infer the business entities behind it, and decide for yourself what to investigate. Expect probes on concrete data quality work you've owned: how you measured completeness, how you adjudicated conflicting sources, how you set thresholds for automation versus human review, and how you kept stakeholders aligned when your findings implied someone's data was wrong. SQL is checked at working depth — joins, aggregation, profiling queries — not optimisation theory. Fluency with AI productivity tools is expected, along with a habit of verifying what they produce.
