What the work involves

This is a single-session micro-task, not an ongoing engagement. You receive a short script and a step-by-step recording guide, read the script aloud in your own voice, and upload the file through the platform's submission link. Most contributors finish in under 15 minutes including setup. The recording is used as training or evaluation data for speech systems, which means the target is a natural Latvian-influenced English accent — the value of the sample lies in it being genuinely yours.

What the platform screens for

  • Accent authenticity. Screeners look for a real Latvian-influenced English accent formed by growing up with or living extensively in Latvian. Imitated accents are rejected and typically end the relationship with the platform.
  • Instruction compliance. The guide specifies things like file format, quiet environment, distance from the mic, no background music, and single continuous take. A large share of rejections come from small deviations here rather than from voice quality.
  • Usable audio. Phone microphones are fine. Clipping, wind, room echo, notification sounds, and traffic noise are not.

Logistics

Fully remote and fully asynchronous — there is no call, no scheduled session, and no fixed hours. You get the script, record when convenient, and submit. Turnaround is quick, so applicants who can complete the task within a day or two of being onboarded are preferred. Payment is a flat $50 for one accepted recording submission; additional batches may or may not follow, and nothing here should be treated as recurring income.
