What the work involves

You sit one layer above the review pass. Legal experts adjudicate model commentary and log structural QC findings across corporate M&A, litigation, data privacy and cybersecurity, and real estate materials; your job is to decide whether their output would survive challenge. For each flag you confirm there is a quotable line — in the prompt, the rubric, or the underlying document — that supports the call, and that the reviewer's rationale actually turns on that line rather than on unstated background assumptions. Where a finding is asserted, overstated, or grounded in the wrong authority, you return it with a note precise enough that the reviewer can fix it without a second round.

The volume skews toward borderline cases: a reviewer flags an indemnity carve-out as non-compliant with the rubric's materiality standard, or marks a privacy clause deficient under a regime the source contract never invokes. You are not re-doing the review. You are testing whether the stated reasoning holds, whether the citation supports the weight placed on it, and whether a second auditor reading the same packet would reach the same conclusion.

  • Breadth that is real across all four practice areas, not one deep specialty and three nodding acquaintances
  • Prior experience in a QC, second-review, or supervisory posture — someone who has had to tell a competent colleague their work is not defensible
  • Discipline about the evidence standard: consistent application of "quotable line or return it," including when your own instinct says the reviewer is substantively right
  • Written feedback that is specific and actionable rather than a scored verdict
