The work
Day to day, you would edit Brazilian Portuguese speech recordings for TTS and speech AI datasets. Tasks include trimming silence, reducing breaths, removing clicks, controlling sibilance and noise, balancing levels, and checking for clipping, distortion and other artifacts across large batches.
Quality judgment
The role also requires linguistic evaluation, not just signal cleanup. Native or near-native Brazilian Portuguese fluency is required so you can assess pronunciation, fluency and naturalness while distinguishing genuine defects from acceptable speech variation. Edits must preserve intelligibility and natural vocal character while meeting the technical specifications supplied for an ML training pipeline.
What the screen is likely to assess
Expect questions about your speech-editing background, restoration tools such as iZotope RX or Pro Tools, and methods for maintaining consistency in structured, high-volume workflows. The screen may also test how you diagnose defects, avoid introducing processing artifacts, document ambiguous cases and evaluate human recordings against TTS requirements. Experience with TTS vendors, voice AI, dataset annotation, audio QA or Brazilian Portuguese voice talent is preferred rather than stated as required.
