What the work involves

You are given legal prompts — contract interpretation questions, procedural posture problems, statutory analysis, memo requests, discovery disputes — and you either produce a model answer at the standard of a competent associate, or you grade what a model produced. Grading is the bulk of most engagements. You mark whether the model correctly identified the governing rule, whether it cited authority that exists and says what it claims, whether it flagged jurisdictional variation, and whether it hedged where hedging was appropriate or hedged to avoid committing to an answer. Written justification is required for every rating; a score without reasoning is usually rejected in QA.

A recurring category is the confidently wrong answer: fluent, well-structured, correctly formatted, and resting on a fabricated citation or a rule from the wrong jurisdiction. Catching these is the core value you provide, and it is why the platform pays for licensed judgment rather than general writing ability.

Logistics

Asynchronous and remote. Most contributors take 10–25 hours a week, though volume is tied to active projects and can pause between them. Tasks are claimed from a queue with deadlines usually measured in days, not hours. You are engaged as an independent contractor, and you remain responsible for your own conflicts screening and any bar obligations around outside work — nothing here is the practice of law or creates an attorney-client relationship, but confidentiality of client matters is entirely on you.
