The work

This remote contractor role involves reviewing individual works and image sets against a theme, exhibition or collection brief. Day-to-day decisions may cover attribution, date, medium, edition, print type, provenance, condition, display risks, rights, consent and ownership. You will also check titles, labels and descriptions, then document why a work belongs, why an attribution is doubtful or why an issue should be escalated.

What the platform screens for

micro1 looks for professional experience in a museum, gallery, auction house, archive or collection, particularly where you made real decisions about selection, acquisition, attribution, loans or display. The curation interview focuses on verifiable examples from exhibitions, collections and attribution work. Photography candidates should be familiar with prints, editions and photographic processes, and clear written English is required.

Selection and logistics

The application requires a resume and short profile, followed by a short curation interview that does not require advance research or a writing exercise. Relevant experience is reviewed before onboarding, and the first task is assessed before further work is assigned. The role is fully remote and open worldwide, but the listing does not specify typical weekly hours or confirm that all work is asynchronous.
