What the work involves
You will be handed adolescent case vignettes — often deliberately ambiguous — and asked to do what you already do in practice: identify indicators of grooming, coercion, and exploitation, weigh developmental stage, capacity and consent, and state what should happen next and how fast. The deliverable is written: a clear, defensible safeguarding assessment that a non-specialist could act on, with the framework you applied and the escalation or mandatory-reporting threshold made explicit. Some tasks ask you to grade or correct model-generated guidance rather than write from scratch, flagging where an answer is confidently wrong, under-escalates, or misses a CSE/CSA indicator buried in the detail.
Because the material concerns sexual harm to minors, expect content that is clinically explicit in the way case files are. There is no direct contact with children or families and no live casework — everything is scenario-based — but the subject matter is sustained and heavy, and pacing your own volume matters.
What the platform screens for
- Recency and caseload. Current or recent (within roughly two years) adolescent safeguarding practice, and an active clinical licence or registration in good standing.
- Framework fluency under follow-up. Naming a risk-assessment tool is not enough; screeners probe how you applied it, where it fails, and how you handled disagreement with a multi-agency partner.
- Written register. Guidance must read as research-grade English — native fluency or IELTS 7.5+/writing 7.0, TOEFL 100+, Cambridge C1–C2 or equivalent — and must be legible to a non-specialist without losing clinical precision.
- Calibration. Willingness to say "insufficient information to escalate" and to defend a judgment against peer standards, rather than reflexively maximising or minimising risk.
Logistics
Remote, asynchronous, contractor engagement. No prior AI or annotation experience is required — the domain knowledge is the point. Roles are typically filled within 48 hours and selected experts are expected to begin tasks within 24–48 hours of completing onboarding, so applying while genuinely available matters more than it would on a slower board. Hours are flexible and project-dependent; the $45–95/hr range reflects rates observed on this listing, varying with specialty, jurisdictional expertise, and task complexity, and is not a guarantee.
