What the work involves
You record continuous third-person video of yourself moving through real environments: walking through streets, indoor spaces, changing terrain, driving with the camera mounted to the vehicle, and in some task sets animal-mounted POV footage. The defining constraint is the camera position — mounted above and behind you on a rigid backpack, harness, or extension pole, angled slightly downward, far enough back that your entire body stays in frame alongside the surrounding scene. Selfie sticks, chest mounts, shoulder clips, and tripods are explicitly rejected. Each clip must run at least 60 seconds unbroken at 720p or better, and the batch should span varied activities and settings rather than repeating one route.
The footage trains embodied and navigation-oriented AI models, which is why framing consistency matters more than cinematic quality. A clip where you drift out of frame, or where the rig wobbles enough to lose the environment, is a clip that fails review — and unapproved footage is unpaid.
What the screen looks for
micro1's screening is AI-led and short. It checks concrete things: which camera you actually own and its FOV and resolution, whether you already have a compatible backpack rig or vehicle mount, whether you can describe a stable third-person setup rather than a handheld one, and how much footage per week you can realistically produce. Expect follow-ups on file handling — resolution settings, stitched vs. dual-lens output, storage and upload of large 360° files. Vague answers about "having a GoPro somewhere" tend to end the conversation.
Logistics
- Remote contractor work, fully self-scheduled; you record when weather, daylight, and your routes allow.
- Rate is observed at $20 per approved video hour (PPT), based on footage accepted after quality review.
- You must already own or have access to a qualifying camera. Mounting hardware is not required to apply, and reasonable equipment costs may be reimbursed.
- Start date depends on shipping time for any equipment sent to you; existing rig owners can typically begin sooner.
- Expect meaningful unpaid time around each paid hour: setup, travel, transfers, and reshoots of rejected clips.
