The work
You will compare pairs of AI-generated responses to transactional legal tasks and determine which is stronger. Assignments may cover contract drafting, redlines, issues lists, due diligence summaries and deal analyses. You will write concise, source-grounded justifications, identify legal or commercial risks, and create realistic prompts, fact patterns and model answers based on your practice experience.
What Mercor screens for
The screening is likely to verify active admission in at least one US state, a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and at least three years of US transactional practice. Expect follow-up questions that test whether you can distinguish material issues from drafting preferences, apply relevant US law, explain deal consequences and support an evaluation with specific source language. AmLaw 100 experience and prior legal AI, annotation or benchmark work are preferred but not required.
Logistics
The work is recurring as new projects launch, with onboarding and calibration sessions required. The role starts immediately, and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. The listing does not specify whether the work is remote, how much of it is asynchronous or the typical weekly hours, so candidates should confirm those details with Mercor.
