What the work actually involves
You are not managing a supply chain here — you are producing the artifacts and reasoning that teach a model what competent supply chain work looks like. A typical task might ask you to build a demand forecast from a messy set of historical shipment data and explain your assumptions; to construct a supplier scorecard weighting cost, quality, on-time delivery and responsiveness, and justify the weights; or to read a model's attempt at an inventory discrepancy analysis and mark exactly where its logic breaks. Work arrives as discrete tasks with rubrics. Much of the value sits in the written justification, not the number you land on — reviewers care whether you can say why safety stock moves when lead time variance doubles.
Expect a mix of generation (you produce the correct artifact) and evaluation (you rank or critique model outputs). Excel work is intermediate, not modelling-heavy: pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, basic formula chains for reporting. ERP exposure is expected at a practitioner's user level — you should be able to describe what a purchase requisition looks like in SAP or NetSuite, what fields matter, where data goes wrong.
What the screen looks for
micro1's process is AI-led and largely conversational. It probes for specifics that only someone who did the job would have: the commodity you sourced, the ERP module you lived in, the forecast horizon you owned, what your MAPE looked like and why. Vague managerial summaries read as thin. It also tests whether you can articulate a judgment call under follow-up — screeners routinely push a second and third time on the same answer to see if the reasoning holds.
Logistics
- Contractor, fully remote, asynchronous within task deadlines
- Typically part-time; contributors often report 10–20 hours a week, with volume varying by project phase
- Pay observed in the $55–100/hr range, set by project and assessed depth — not guaranteed
- Work is delivered through the platform's task tooling; you need reliable internet and a working spreadsheet environment
