What the work actually involves

You are given (or source) medical and biostatistical figures and build reasoning items from them. A typical task: read a forest plot of subgroup hazard ratios, construct a question that requires the model to compare two subgroups, judge interaction, and account for the confidence intervals crossing 1 — then write the answer with a step-by-step derivation showing which axis values you read, how you interpolated, and what statistical inference follows. Items must be answerable solely from the figure, deterministic, and free of subjective phrasing. Expect median-survival reads off Kaplan-Meier curves with number-at-risk tables, AUC comparisons and threshold trade-offs on ROC curves, and conversions between log and linear scales.

Much of the effort goes into rigour rather than volume. Reviewers reject items where the answer is arguable, where the chart is too low-resolution to support the precision claimed, where a censoring mark has been misread as an event, or where the "correct" answer depends on clinical knowledge the figure does not supply. Feedback cycles are normal and you are expected to rewrite rather than defend.

Written and spoken English is assessed directly, since explanations ship as prose. No AI or annotation background is required; unexamined chart claims are the main failure mode.
