You sit between a research team and a model's coding behaviour. On a given task you might be handed a repository-scale prompt and asked to produce a correct, idiomatic reference solution; or given two model completions and asked which is better and why, in a written rationale a researcher can act on. Much of the value is in the failure analysis — not just "this is wrong" but "the model conflates async iteration with generator semantics here, and does so consistently on this task family." The listing also describes work that goes beyond per-sample labelling. Turing asks evaluators to design verification mechanisms — test harnesses, property-based checks, linting and execution gates that decide automatically whether a candidate solution is correct — and to build agents that flag error patterns at scale. There is a reasoning component too: hypothesising about which stages of the engineering cycle (prototyping, architecture, API design, production rollout, monitoring, operational maintenance) a model is weakest on, and constructing tasks that expose it.
What the screen is looking for
The application runs 15–30 minutes and includes a required AI video interview. It is checking three things: that your stated years and stack are real and specific, that you can articulate a code-quality judgment under follow-up rather than asserting it, and that your availability claim is credible. Vague seniority claims are the common failure mode — "I've worked across the stack for eight years" gets probed immediately for a named system, a named language version, a decision you made and why. Written clarity carries real weight here because rationales are the deliverable.
