The work

This remote contractor role applies senior protection-engineering judgment to AI training and validation. Day-to-day work includes assessing reference cases for 2.4kV–38kV distribution systems, checking relay settings and coordination curves, reviewing protection logs, and analyzing fault-current and equipment-protection studies.

Technical focus

You will evaluate applications of SEL, GE or equivalent microprocessor-based relays and may work from studies produced in ETAP, ASPEN or CAPE. Deliverables include clear written rationales, corrections to technical documentation, and realistic scenarios grounded in U.S. distribution-utility or industrial practices. The platform is likely to screen for traceable reasoning, familiarity with recognized protection methodologies, and the ability to identify unsafe assumptions or incomplete evidence.

Working arrangement

The engagement is remote and contractor-based. Much of the output is written, but the role also involves written and verbal collaboration with project managers and technical leads. The listing does not state typical weekly hours or confirm that the work is fully asynchronous.
