What the work actually is
You receive an image of a real business slide — a quarterly roadmap, a systems architecture overview, a program status update — and rebuild it in Microsoft PowerPoint. Fidelity comes first: factual claims, domain definitions, and caveats in the original must survive the rebuild intact. Then you improve it. That usually means an evidence-based title that states the takeaway rather than labelling the topic, a clearer message hierarchy, tighter data visualization, and removal of decoration that carries no information.
The second deliverable matters as much as the deck. For every slide you write a change log justifying each improvement — and, critically, each improvement you declined to make. A model learning from your work needs to see where an obvious-looking edit was wrong because it would have dropped a dependency caveat or implied a commitment the source never made. Restraint, documented, is signal.
What the screen is looking for
micro1's screening is AI-led and conversational. It probes whether you have genuinely owned executive communication in a product or engineering context — three-plus years in product management, engineering leadership, or TPM work — rather than whether you can describe slide design in the abstract. Expect follow-ups that push on specific decks you built, specific stakeholders you built them for, and the reasoning behind particular chart and title choices. Advanced PowerPoint fluency is assumed and will be tested through description: masters, alignment, chart types, when to leave the native chart and when not to. No AI background is required.
Logistics
- Fully remote, contractor engagement, project-based sprints
- Individual assignments typically 1–2 hours; timing is flexible within sprint windows
- Requires a licensed desktop Microsoft PowerPoint installation — web or third-party equivalents won't reproduce the required fidelity
- Volume fluctuates with sprint availability; treat it as supplemental rather than guaranteed weekly hours
- Rates in the $150–350/hr range are as observed for this listing, not a guarantee; placement within the band tracks seniority and assignment type
