What the work involves

This is not a prompt-writing or model-rating role. You own agentic systems end to end: the ingestion and retrieval pipelines that feed them, the backend services and MCP/tool-calling interfaces they act through, the orchestration layer (LangGraph, Google ADK, CrewAI, Claude Agent SDK or equivalent), the evaluation harness that catches regressions, and the AWS infrastructure it all runs on. Day to day you will be writing large-scale Python and SQL, reviewing others' code, standing up validator models and adversarial test suites, chasing token and latency budgets against defined SLOs, and sitting with client stakeholders to turn a business problem into something shippable under governance constraints.

A meaningful share of the job is reliability engineering applied to nondeterministic systems — self-correction loops, policy checks, deterministic fallbacks, circuit breakers, rollback paths — plus the instrumentation (LangSmith, Langfuse, or in-house tracing) that makes agent behaviour auditable in a regulated enterprise. Expect to ramp fast in unfamiliar codebases and to work from system-level documentation rather than tickets.

What the screen is looking for

Turing's screening process pushes hard on whether your agentic experience actually reached production, and on the depth behind buzzwords. Expect follow-ups on chunking and reranking choices you personally made, how you measured an eval set's validity, what your p95 latency was before and after an optimization, and why you reached for Go or Rust instead of Python on a specific service. Breadth claims across many frameworks are less persuasive than one system you can describe down to its failure modes and unit economics.

Logistics

  • Full-time employment, not contract or per-task work.
  • Bengaluru-based, three days per week in office — this is not a remote or async listing.
  • Daily overlap with roughly 8AM–12PM EST, so late-evening India hours are part of the schedule.
  • Target experience band is 8–14 years total software engineering, with 2+ years hands-on LLM engineering.
  • Pay band is undisclosed on the platform; compensation is discussed directly with Turing's recruiting team.
