The work
You will create, solve, review, and validate advanced mathematics tasks that can be completed through programmatic, command-line-based workflows. Day to day, this may involve translating a problem into an algorithm, implementing equations, running numerical experiments or parameter sweeps, visualizing results, testing special cases, and deciding whether an answer is mathematically and numerically valid.
What the screen covers
The platform screens for verifiable education or mathematics-focused experience, depth in at least one mathematical area, and the ability to explain a reproducible computational workflow under follow-up. Python is used to implement and automate workflows. Julia is listed as a relevant tool option, not a requirement. Other relevant tools include NumPy, SciPy, SymPy, pandas, Matplotlib, Jupyter, CVXPY, statsmodels, NetworkX, SageMath, GNU Octave, numerical solvers, optimization libraries, and comparable command-line-accessible mathematical software. No single library is mandatory.
Logistics
This is a global, fully remote contractor role with a flexible schedule of approximately 15 hours per week, including weekends if preferred. The process includes screening questions, an AI interview of approximately 30 minutes, and hiring manager review. Selected experts are expected to begin their first task within 24 to 48 hours after onboarding. Compensation is output-based, with payment for tasks that meet project specifications and minimum submission requirements, so time spent and effective compensation can vary by task.
