The work
You will review LLM-generated Malay across translation, summarization, dialogue and grammar-correction tasks. Day to day, this can include rating accuracy and naturalness, rewriting weak outputs, annotating grammatical or semantic features, identifying recurring model failures and giving researchers evidence-based linguistic feedback.
What the screening focuses on
Mercor is looking for native or near-native fluency in Malay, supported by professional experience in translation, editing, linguistic annotation or NLP data work in Malay. Screening is likely to probe your command of grammar, syntax, stylistics, regional variation and context-appropriate usage. You should be prepared to explain specific judgments, compare plausible alternatives and show how you apply annotation or quality standards consistently. Interest in AI and LLM-driven language technologies is preferred but not required.
Logistics
The project is structured for distributed, remote collaboration and requires clear written feedback. The listing does not state typical weekly hours, a fixed schedule or project duration, so candidates should be ready to describe their realistic availability and capacity for asynchronous work.
