The work
You will complete realistic process, operations and production engineering tasks on your own Mac, then explain the decisions you make. Assignments may involve process design, lean or Six Sigma analysis, production planning, quality control or supply chain analysis using spreadsheets, CAD, process-mapping or statistical tools. The resulting work is used as training and evaluation data for AI models.
What Mercor screens for
The initial application includes a resume review and a three-minute AI interview focused on research and reasoning. Expect the screen to test whether you can describe specific engineering work, support decisions with operational evidence and narrate a workflow clearly enough for another engineer to review. Candidates who progress complete a brief paid assessment.
Practical details
The expected commitment is approximately 10 to 20 hours per week, with an immediate start preferred. The listing describes work completed on your own computer but does not state a location requirement or confirm whether all work is asynchronous, so candidates should verify remote-work and scheduling arrangements during onboarding. You must own a MacBook or Mac with an Apple M-series chip or Intel processor running macOS 15 or higher.
Pay band: $50–60/hr
