What the work involves
You write realistic quality and safety cases and the defensible analysis that goes with them. A typical unit of work starts from an event report — a wrong-site marking near miss, a delayed sepsis bundle, a fall with injury, a HEDIS gap-closure failure — and runs through the full arc: timeline reconstruction, RCA method selection, contributing factors, causal statements, corrective actions mapped to the hierarchy of controls, and measures of effectiveness. Alongside each scenario you document the methodology, not just the conclusion, so a grader can tell whether a model reached the right answer for the right reason.
The second half of the job is evaluation. You read model-generated analyses and score them for methodological rigor and regulatory accuracy — whether causal statements actually meet cause-and-effect rules, whether an action plan stops at re-education, whether a citation to a Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goal or a CMS Condition of Participation is real and current. The most valuable skill here is catching output that reads like a polished RCA but stops at individual blame or names a person as the root cause.
What the platform screens for
AfterQuery's screen is AI-led and follow-up heavy. Expect to be pushed on specifics: which RCA framework you have actually facilitated, how you have handled a survey finding, what a sound corrective action looks like versus a weak one, how you would score a borderline model answer. Generic quality vocabulary — "culture of safety," "data-driven improvement" — does not survive a second question. Credentials are verified, and the license or certification gate is real.
