What the work involves
This is embodied-AI training data collection, not writing or annotation. You wear a head strap holding your smartphone and film yourself doing normal household tasks (folding laundry, washing dishes, sweeping, tidying, cooking prep) from a first-person point of view. The value is in the hands-in-frame perspective and the natural, repeated motion, so the bar is consistent capture rather than cinematic quality: steady framing, both hands visible when manipulating objects, adequate lighting, synchronized audio and video, and files submitted in the format and length the project specifies.
Day to day it looks like this: pick a task from the guidelines, mount the phone, check battery and storage, record a continuous take, review it for occlusion or blur, and upload. Rejected clips do not count toward paid hours, so people who read the capture spec carefully and do a short test recording before a long session end up earning more per hour spent than people who film first and check later.
What the platform screens for
micro1 runs an AI-led onboarding interview plus a device compatibility check. The screen is mostly verifiable facts: which phone model you own, which state you live in, US work eligibility, whether you can wear the head strap comfortably and perform repetitive physical movement safely, and how many hours per week you can realistically film. Identity verification follows for candidates who clear the location and equipment gates, and selected candidates are expected to complete it within 48 hours of contact. Answer the factual questions plainly; the model is checking for consistency between what you claim and what the device check later reports.
