What the work actually involves

You are not keying data — you are building the traps. Each task starts with you constructing a realistic artifact set: a CSV export with silent truncations, a scanned PDF invoice that disagrees with the spreadsheet it should reconcile to, a ledger with duplicate records under slightly different vendor spellings, date fields in three formats, a numeric column where negatives were entered with trailing minus signs. You then specify the correct final state precisely enough that two competent reviewers would agree on it, and enumerate every error the agent is expected to catch.

The rubric is the heart of the deliverable. A 35+ criterion rubric means you are decomposing the task into individually checkable assertions — this field reconciled to this source, this duplicate merged with this retained value, this unresolvable ambiguity flagged rather than silently guessed. Partial credit has to be defensible, and criteria have to be written so that a grader who has never seen your source files can still apply them.

What the screen looks for

  • Real time in a regulated or audit-sensitive back office: healthcare claims, finance operations, legal e-discovery, insurance, payroll, clinical data management.
  • Ability to name specific failure modes you have personally caught — Excel coercing account numbers to scientific notation, leading zeros stripped from ZIPs or NDCs, UTF-8 mangling in a vendor feed, a fixed-width field truncating at 30 characters.
  • Documented accuracy discipline: audit sampling, four-eyes verification, keystroke error rates, QA hold rates.
  • Written English clean enough to draft unambiguous task instructions and rubric language without editing support.

Logistics

Fully remote, fully asynchronous, contractor engagement. Pay is output-based — the $20–35/hr band reflects rates contributors have reported rather than a guaranteed hourly wage, and your effective rate depends on how fast you can produce accepted tasks. Minimum weekly submission volume applies. micro1 typically fills these roles within about 48 hours and expects first tasks within 24–48 hours of onboarding, so apply when you can genuinely start.
