What the work involves
Each task hands you a contract negotiation artifact — a transcript of a negotiation exchange plus a reference set of redlines against an MSA, SOW, NDA, DPA, or SaaS/vendor agreement. Your job is not to redline it yourself from scratch. It is to assess the redlines already there: were the right issues flagged, were the positions taken defensible for the party in question, and were the edits made surgically rather than by rewriting clauses that did not need touching? You then write structured feedback explaining where the judgment holds and where it breaks down, in terms specific enough that a model trainer can act on it.
The distinction that matters most here is between a redline that is wrong and a redline that is merely not how you would have done it. A limitation of liability capped at 12 months' fees versus 2x fees is a negotiating position, not an error. Deleting a mutual indemnity and leaving a one-way one in the counterparty's favour is an error. Reviewers who cannot hold that line consistently tend not to last.
What the platform screens for
- Hands-on redlining volume, not title. A law degree is preferred but genuinely not required; contract managers, commercial managers, and procurement leads with three-plus years of live negotiation experience are in scope. Expect the screen to ask which agreement types you have personally negotiated and roughly how many.
- Issue-spotting under follow-up. You will likely be asked what you look for first in an unfamiliar SaaS MSA, then pushed on why — the follow-up is where depth shows.
- Written structure. Feedback is the deliverable. The screen looks for whether you can separate observation, reasoning, and severity rather than writing a paragraph of impressions.
Logistics
Fully remote and fully asynchronous — no client calls, no fixed hours. Tasks are claimed from a queue and most people work them in evenings or weekend blocks around a full-time role. Pay is observed at approximately $115 per task with tasks running 60–90 minutes, which is where the $75–115/hr band comes from; slower tasks pull the effective rate toward the bottom of it. Volume fluctuates with project demand and is not guaranteed week to week.
