The work
This remote contractor role supports evaluation and training of defense-focused AI systems. Day to day, subject-matter experts map military-activity scenarios to an approved taxonomy, grade AI-generated responses, identify difficult boundary cases, and document disagreements or gray areas in a transparent answer key. The work requires separating valid conceptual, policy, readiness, and evidence-curation support from operational decision support, destructive execution, autonomous weapons, or unlawful planning.
What micro1 screens for
The screen is likely to test whether you can ground judgments in real experience with joint or service-specific fires, targeting, or weapons employment. Expect follow-up questions about source reliability, conflicting pattern-of-life intelligence, uncertainty, targeting utility, law-of-armed-conflict or rules-of-engagement considerations, and cases where a model either overreaches or refuses a legitimate conceptual question. Advanced tactical training, teaching or evaluative experience, and prior work in AI evaluation, wargaming, or red-teaming are preferred or valued, but prior AI experience is not required.
Logistics
The engagement is remote and structured as contractor work. The listing does not state typical weekly hours, scheduling expectations, or whether all work is asynchronous, so candidates should confirm availability requirements during the process. Sensitive experience should be discussed through sanitized, unclassified examples.
Pay band: $60–110/hr
