What the work involves

You author original chemistry problems at postgraduate and competitive-entrance-exam difficulty, then produce the model answer: a full worked solution with every reasoning step made explicit. Much of it is multimodal — a mechanism question needs annotated curved arrows and intermediates, an equilibrium question needs a reaction-coordinate or concentration-versus-time diagram, a thermodynamics item needs the state functions laid out rather than assumed. A second strand of work is review: reading model output on chemistry prompts and marking exactly where the reasoning breaks — a wrong regiochemical outcome, a sign error in ΔG, an invented reagent, a correct answer reached by an invalid route.

What the platform screens for

Turing's screen is chemistry depth first. Expect to be pushed on a mechanism or a calculation and asked why — the follow-ups test whether you reason from principles or recall textbook conclusions. The second thing measured is explanation discipline: whether you can take a hard problem and decompose it into steps a grader can check, without hand-waving over the step that actually matters. Third is evaluation judgment — can you distinguish a model answer that is wrong from one that is merely differently formatted, and can you write feedback specific enough to act on. Screens typically include a work sample or a timed problem-authoring task.

Logistics

  • Fully remote, asynchronous, contractor engagement — no medical or paid leave.
  • Work is drawn from a task queue; throughput and quality both count toward continued allocation and contract extension.
  • You need your own desktop or laptop and reliable internet; diagram work means a real screen, not a phone.
  • Current PhD students and postdocs are explicitly welcomed, and the workload is usually compatible with an active research schedule.
